But the glimmers of joy Peter was showing at merely the phone conversation, that made her smile. A lot. Even one-sided like this, she could hear the genuine affection flowing, and couldn't - nor wanted to - not be happy for them. And she knew that whoever was waiting at the end of this journey, she would be able to at least honestly give this - be graceful and nice, no matter how troubled herself, over the love the two men seemed to share.
The sense of humor tinging the older man beside her, too, made her rather look forward to the time with them. (Even if, yes, her thoughts did not quite leave Heru. But he had still been way too weak to awaken, and only gathering his strength slowly, too slowly.)
